How to use the LHU virtual environment

Lock Haven University, now part of the Commonwealth University system, offers a virtual environment which can be used from your KCSD issued Chromebook! Please see the instructions below for how to connect through their virtual environment.

  1. Open Chrome browser on your Chromebook
  2. Navigate to https://chrome.google.com/webstore
  3. Click on “For Keystone Central School District” in the left column.
  4. Select “VMWare Horizon Client for Chrome” from the list of available apps.
  5. Click “Add to Chrome”
  6. Click “Add app” on the pop-up menu that appears, which prompts you to accept installation details. Do not press the Enter key, as that will cancel the installation.
  7. Click the Launcher (circle icon) on the bottom-left of your Chromebook screen.
  8. From the list of apps in the Launcher, open VMWare Horizon Client for Chrome.
  9. Click the + symbol in the top-left of the app’s home screen to add a new connection
  10. In the Connection Server field, enter: myvm.commonwealthu.edu
    1. Optionally, add a description for organization/customization.
  11. Click Connect
  12. At the following login screen, enter your Commonwealth EDU account username and password to log into the virtual environment.
    1. In most cases, this will be your @lockhaven.edu account.
